Rockport which has recently been in talks to have a relaunch, decided to take their designs to a different level by going beyond Rockport’s well-known boat shoe offerings to create an all new line of athletic-centric lifestyle footwear. For most, Black Friday is the most important day in American shopping culture. This is the day where most retailers attempt to attract the most shoppers with products at high discounts. Many line up hours before early morning store openings. Similar is true to certain sneaker releases where collectors and others line up for hours (and sometimes days) before a sneakers release. This year, DJ Clark Kent has decided to put a twist on the culture of Black Friday and sneaker culture itself with a special edition Black Friday Air Force 1. This is what DJ Clark Kent said of the sneaker: “So I went to the fabric library, picked the prime suspects and went to work on the design,” “The end result…Something Black, Luxurious & Fly, and FRESH!!!! What better way to start the holiday shopping season?!?!”
The Black Friday Air Force 1 will drop this Black Friday, November 28th, 2008 at three locations exclusively in the US. The first store to release the sneaker will be Nike Sportswear at 21 Mercer Street in NYC (starting at 4am), followed by releases at Concepts in Boston and Shoe Gallery in Miami later in the day. DJ Clark Kent will be at each of the locations for the release.
What will the shoe look like? You will just have to show up and decided if you like it or not. If you like it, you cop it, if you don’t, there are many more Black Friday events at all the stores in the respective cities.

Mike designed two pairs of limited edition DC shoes, The MSDC Xander and the MSDC Pride, using traditional Japanese patterns and Koi scale textures as a theme for the project. Unique to his shoes are clear Koi scale patterned soles that reveal Mike’s artwork embedded in the footbeds. Renditions of Mike’s latest works are also found on the shoes uppers, insole and outsoles, with his signature stitched into the shoes’ heels. Accompanying each pair of shoes is a limited edition booklet of Mike’s artwork.
Mike’s shoes will be showcased to the public for the first time during his gallery show, Born held at the Japanese American National Museum. An opening event will be held for the public on July 11th, 2008 from 8 -10pm. Although not as innovative as the original Playstation inspired Air Force 1’s from some years back, Nike looks toward the iconic gaming system for another go round. This time they focus on the third installment in the Sony Playstation lineup, combining black on black uppers with chameleon accenting. As part of the ‘Brazil Custom Series’, Nike Brazil along with Nike SB have collaborated with skaters Cezar Gordo, Fabio Cristiano and Rodrigo Petersen to present this collection of limited edition Nike SB Dunks, utilizing a running theme of music. Delving deep into the history of skate to find an iconic marriage with the sport, the skaters along with the design team had a light bulb moment! The humble Walkman, which has sadly been superseded by the troublesome Ipod, was the only way to rock your dome back in the day, so what better way to celebrate its history with skate culture than to reinterpret it on a collection of Nike SB Dunks. The basic elements of the old Walkman are: the box, the earphones and the cassette. Each of the skaters chose the part with which they identified the most: Rodrigo Petersen chose the box of the old yellow Walkman as inspiration to create his model. Cezar Gordo selected the earphones as a source of creation, while the audio cassette was chosen by Fabio Cristiano to compose his work.
For the model that carries his signature, Cezar Gordo, 2004 street Brazilian champion, chose earphones as a musical reference. A mainstay in even the newest of portable music technology, the earphones have gone from large saucers of Princess Leia proportions, to the delicate bud like customizable earplugs of today. Using the wires of the earphones, Cezar has wrapped the shoe using grey and yellow tones to highlight the only colour to rock on your Walkman back in the ‘90s. Oscar winner Jamie Foxx bit into the role of a schizophrenic musician for his latest movie The Soloist - by chiseling his perfect teeth. Foxx was determined to create a realiztic portrayal of Nathaniel Ayers, a homeless American musician who suffered from schizophrenia, so he took the tool to his mouth to mess up his good looks.
The actor explains to Maxim Magazine, “I spent hours getting the nuances of the person, making him real. Something angelic happens and you actually become that person. For Nathaniel, I pushed things a bit. I lost about 20 pounds and I put a gap in my teeth. I had one (of my teeth) chipped out with a chisel. My teeth are just so big and white - a homeless person would never have them. I wanted to break up my big, shining piano keys to five them a little character. Some might think I f—ed up my grill for nothing, but I just wanted to come up with some s— to make the part unique.”
When they said chiseled, we didn’t know they were talking about his d@mn teeth. You’ll never accuse Jamie Foxx of not going the extra mile to get into character. Those things could have used a little chiseling anyway.

Here’s Kanye’s animated version of his “Heartless” video. I kinda/sorta like it, but its nothing speical....What's obvious by watching this video is that he's a fan of animation. Unlike the video for "Good Morning," it's not all that exciting...sorry Yeezy. The video for "Heartless" is pretty much like most videos out there filled with pretty girls && a man laying his emotions bare, minus the fact that its a cartoon. I'm just disliking it because it's visually and stylistically underwhelming.
PLUS:: did anybody else notice that kanyeezy has been getting back to the College Dropout hip hop preppy boy image lately? I, for one, am happy...I perfer the simple Kanye look oppsed to the super trendy one....&& does'nt the chick in the cartoon kinda remind you of Kanye's ex-Alexis?

The Alexander McQueen PUMA footwear collection explores the skeletal structure – the AMQ Spine Luxe showcases a lizard-skin upper with a slicked down silhouette reminiscent of the Puma Clyde.
